Royal Shakespeare Company

One of the world's best-known theatre ensembles, the Royal Shakespeare Company focuses on works by Shakespeare, other renaissance dramatists and contemporary writers. The RSC's ensemble nature allows audiences to follow the company's actors in a number of repertoire productions while providing an expert training environment for its actors, directors and theatre artists.

AEA was commissioned in 2004 to facilitate RSC’s current strategic plan, working with the company’s board and management team to articulate and chart a path towards the parallel goals of reinvigorating the ensemble philosophy at the heart of the company, under its leadership of its artistic director Michael Boyd and executive director Vikki Heywood, and redeveloping its site in Stratford upon Avon – a major £100 million capital project funded in part by the National Lottery and due for completion in 2010.

The plan period’s inception was marked by the RSC presenting or producing, during the course of its 2006 season, the complete works of Shakespeare.

Press about the capital project can be found here.
