AEA worked with the MBG during 2007-2008 on a seven-year strategic plan addressing all aspects of the second-largest botanical garden in the country, after the New York Botanical Garden. The key goals of the plan were to enhance research and conservation; engage and educate audiences; and strengthen institutional capacity.

Our work involved interviewing over 70 stakeholders; undertaking a benchmarking study; shaping the plan’s key objectives, strategies and tactics; building a financial model to see the financial implications of implementing the plan; and designing a detailed implementation timetable.
