AEA was commissioned by the James Irvine Foundation in 2007 to explore the state of the arts and cultural ecology in California, and recommend ways in which the Foundation can direct its cultural investment most strategically.

The result of our work was a working paper, “Critical Issues Facing the Arts in California”.
